DC Mall Again, The American Indian Museum

About a week ago, we had the opportunity to go to the American Indian Museum.
We took a few pictures outside while we waited for it to open than finally headed inside.
It was pretty cool, they had statues and other cool exhibits.

They had case fulls of hand carved wooden masks that were amazing.
Statues in glass cases lined the walls with interesting facts about them.

Miniature animals and people all hand carved from wood.
They even have mysterious rocks on display.
This was really cool. A native American drawing next to each animal it represented. The Native Americans were good artists.

On the first floor, there is a museum cafe that serves native american food. A little pricey but still a good experience.
An old native american fishing kayak.
Ah, museum stores, over priced and full of useless knickknacks. We didn't go in but it looked cool if you wanted keepsakes from the museum.
A display case of different clothes, toys, and weapons.
Ancient pottery is also on display throughout the building.
This is where I started loosing interest. A whole floor of interactive kid's activities that are a little to young for me. My five year old brother and nine year old sister both loved it though.
I did like the trivia.

I loved this museum but it definitely wasn't my favorite of the Smithsonian's.
